ArcGIS Online HTTPS Only Enforcement

On the 8th of December 2020, ArcGIS Online will change to enforce HTTPS Only. This means HTTP support in ArcGIS Online will be discontinued and references to HTTP URLs will no longer work in ArcGIS Online. Some organisations activated before September 2018 still currently allow ArcGIS Online to communicate using HTTP access to content, such as web layers and images.

You may see a Banner like this if “Allow access to the organisation through HTTPS only” is not switched On.

HTTPS oNLY IS NOT SET FOR THIS ORGANISATION

If “Allow access to the organisation through HTTPS onlyis switched On, or you do not see this HTTPS section in Home > Organisation > Settings > Security, then your ArcGIS Online already enforces HTTPS Only so you do not need to take any action.

If “Allow access to the organisation through HTTPS onlyis not switched On, then you may have used some HTTP references which will need to be updated to HTTPS.

For example, you may have referenced a Feature Layer or Locator service using HTTP. You will need to check these services support HTTPS, then change the reference in your ArcGIS Online organisation to HTTPS.

Please check your site and update any HTTP references using these tools.
