UPDATE (New Time): Esri UK Content change to HTTPS Only

IMPORTANT UPDATE. This change is now postponed until 11:30am on 1st of December 2020 (Please note the new time).

In previous articles we discussed the ArcGIS Online change to enforce HTTPS Only and how this may affect your ArcGIS Online organisation. This article explains what is happening to Esri UK content.

All of the Esri UK content is already accessible via HTTPS, as well as HTTP. At 11:30am on 1st of December 2020 (previously 11th November 2020) we will transition to providing content as HTTPS ONLY. If you are currently connecting to any of our services using HTTP you should start to update those links to HTTPS as soon as possible.

What action should be taken by my organisation?

If your ArcGIS Online organisation is already set to HTTPS Only, then no action should be necessary. However, it may be prudent to double check that you have no content referencing HTTP.

If your Organisation is not set to HTTPS Only then it will be necessary to identify any content referencing HTTP and update to HTTPS.

For Esri UK content, the Update layers to HTTPS tool will amend items that have been added in ArcGIS Online from HTTP to HTTPS. Note: if you have added HTTP content using embedded credentials, then please contact Esri UK Technical Support.

This should be done before 1st of December 2020 (previously 11th November 2020) as after this date the HTTP URLs will no longer work.

Example content from Esri UK:

- OS Premium Basemaps

- OS Open Basemaps

- Esri UK Locators

- Covid-19 Response Feature Services

- Hosted Premium Content (e.g. TitleInfo)

- Hosted Premium Applications (e.g. Sweet for ArcGIS)

If you have any questions about this change, please contact Esri UK Technical Support.
