We refreshed our ArcGIS Online Imagery Basemap on October 25th with updated data for much of Europe. This updated data brought many benefits, primarily more recent data and significant quality improvements across large areas. However, we have observed issues with the quality of some of the imagery in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
We are working hard with our data provider to resolve these issues as soon as possible. In the meantime we have taken the decision to revert the recent update back to the previous dataset. Whilst we appreciate this will reinstate older imagery than is available currently, it will also preserve the image quality and consistency which underpins many existing users and application workflows.
We expect this change to happen by early December. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused, please get in touch with us if you have any questions.
The World Imagery Service was successfully reverted back to the previous imagery on the 7th December 2016.
