UK’s first Data Drills shine spotlight on information readiness

When unexpected incidents occur, it is vitally important to react quickly to protect lives, maintain public services and minimise business disruption. However, to rapidly make the right decisions, organisations need to know how to find, access and utilise relevant data quickly. Achieving this level of information readiness is a huge challenge, particularly when it is almost impossible to anticipate what information you might need to know.

In this blog, Esri UK’s Paul Clarke explains how leading organisations are now participating in Data Drills to help them explore what data they may need to respond to a potential future issue, where it is located and how to make best use of it quickly. Through these Data Drill workshops, public sector and commercial organisations are overcoming barriers to establish what is possible and transforming their ability to respond appropriately to pressing issues.
